Pushrod Wooden Pipes – Classic
About the Creator, Justin -
My inspiration stems from an appreciation for the history of cannabis and my love for its medicinal benefits. The connection to prohibition runs deep—cannabis, once prohibited and misunderstood, reminded me of how something natural and potentially beneficial could be outlawed, much like alcohol was in the past. That parallel sparked an idea: What if I could make something that celebrated both the resilience of cannabis and the beauty of reclaimed, durable materials?
After struggling to find a pipe I took pride in using(My childhood experience with D.A.R.E ruined glass for me), I decided to make my own. I wanted to merge organic with industrial, crafting a piece that embodies both nature and mechanics. The wood brings warmth, tradition, and a sense of grounded authenticity, while the Chevrolet engine pushrod stem adds a touch of precision engineering and resilience. The design is a way for me to express my appreciation for the organic origins of cannabis, the craftsmanship involved in creating something functional and unique as well highlighting my love for everything mechanical.
Do your pipes require any maintenance?
Treat your pipe like your favorite wood cutting board.
Like anything made from organic material, a little preventative maintenance will ensure your pipe lasts for the next generation to enjoy.
I suggest wiping the pipe with a thin coat of food grade mineral oil to preserve to wood. Be sure to avoid putting mineral inside the bowl of the pipe. *Mineral Oil can be purchased at any local pharmacy and most general retail stores*
I recommend clearing (burning off any excess resin)the bowl after 2-3 sessions. To do this, remove any flower that might be left in the bowl. After removing the flower I suggest you take a few hits (let the lighter flame burn off the resin at the base of the bowl).
The screen will periodically get clogged from resin. It can be removed using a pointed object such as a paper clip. They can be cleaned and reused many times before replacing them by soaking in isopropyl alcohol.
